Crispy Fried Onion Rings

Sliced onions coated in a seasoned batter and fried to a golden, crispy perfection. Elevate your snacking game with these irresistible homemade onion rings that will leave you craving for more.

INGREDIENTS

2 large white onions
1 cup flour
2 cups breadcrumbs
1 1/3 cup milk
2 eggs
2 cups oil (vegetable or canola oil)
1 tbsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp baking soda 

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1
Slice onions into 1/4” rings. Set aside.
STEP 2
In a small bowl, combine the following ingredients: flour, baking soda, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper. 
STEP 3
Dredge onion rings in the flour mixture and set aside.
STEP 4
Add the eggs and milk to a separate bowl. Slowly mix in the flour mixture and whisk batter until smooth. Set aside.
STEP 5
Add the breadcrumbs to a third small bowl. 
STEP 6
Dip the onion rings in the batter and immediately dredge in the breadcrumbs, making sure to coat all sides. 
STEP 7
Heat oil in a large pan on medium-high heat until oil is ready for frying.
STEP 8
Transfer coated onion rings to the heated pan and fry for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from pan and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve as a side dish with your favorite meal.
