Asian orange chicken - tender pieces of crispy, golden-brown chicken glazed in a tangy and sweet orange sauce. The dish is garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1
In a large bowl, combine the following ingredients to create the batter, adding more flour as needed to thicken the mixture: flour, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg whites, salt, & pepper.

STEP 2
Dice the chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Add the cubed chicken to the batter and stir to combine, ensuring the pieces are evenly coated.

STEP 3
Deep fry the chicken until golden brown (about 5-6 minutes), adding one piece at at time to the oil. Remove from oil and double fry the chicken, if desired, for a crispier finish (1 additional minute on high heat). Set side for Step 5.

STEP 4
In a small bowl, combine the orange sauce ingredients (orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, flour, salt, & pepper).
STEP 5
Heat the orange sauce in a large pan on Medium/High heat until sauce thickens (3-5 minutes). Add the fried chicken to the pan and toss to evenly coat the chicken in the sauce.
STEP 6
Remove orange chicken from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve on top of fried rice or your favorite side dish.
