Rich and buttery brioche bread is soaked in a creamy custard mixture and cooked to golden perfection. Topped with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, this decadent dish promises to elevate your morning with every delicious bite.
INGREDIENTS
1 loaf sliced brioche bread
4 eggs
2/3 cup milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
In a small cup, melt 1 tbsp butter in the microwave. Mix in the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Set aside for Step 2.
STEP 2
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs. Add in the milk, butter & sugar mixture, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt, and stir to combine.
STEP 3
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large pan on Medium heat. Dip the brioche into the egg mixture one slice at a time, making sure to coat all sides of the bread. Transfer each slice to the pan and cook on each side for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
STEP 4
Transfer the brioche French toast to a platter, top with powdered sugar, maple syrup, and fresh fruit, and serve alongside breakfast sausage or bacon for a satisfying breakfast or lunch.
